DN200 300# ASTM A182 Stainless Steel WN RF Flange
Difference between WN RF flange and SO RF flange
1. The weld forms are different: the weld between the pipe and the flange with the neck flat welding flange is fillet weld, while the weld between the neck butt welding flange and the pipe is circumferential weld;
2. Different materials: the neck flat welding flange is machined from ordinary steel plate with thickness meeting the requirements, while the neck butt welding flange is mostly machined from forged steel parts;
3. Different nominal pressures: the nominal pressure of the neck flat welding flange is 0.6-4.0mpa, while the nominal pressure of the neck butt welding flange is 1-25mpa.
4. In addition, the weld between the neck butt welding flange and the connecting pipe belongs to class B weld, and the weld between the neck flat welding flange and the connecting pipe belongs to class C weld. The post weld NDT is different.
5. The neck flat welding flange and neck butt welding flange cannot be replaced casually. From the manufacturing point of view, the large inner diameter of the neck flat welding flange means small weight and low cost. In addition, the neck butt welding flange with nominal diameter greater than 250mm needs to be tested, and so's flange does not need to be tested, so the cost is low.
