Reducer (reducer) is a kind of pipe fitting used in the pipe reducing position.
The commonly used forming processes are necking pressing, expanding pressing or reducing plus expanding pressing. For some sizes of reducers, stamping can also be used. The reducing process of reducing / expanding reducing pipe is to put the tube blank with the same diameter as the big end of the reducing pipe into the forming die, and the metal moves along the die cavity and shrinks to form by pressing along the tube blank axial direction. According to the size of reducer, it can be divided into one-time pressing forming or multiple pressing forming.
The tube blank with smaller diameter than the big end of the reducing pipe is used for expanding along the inner diameter of the tube blank with the internal die. The expanding process mainly solves the problem that the reducer with large diameter change is not easy to pass through the necking. Sometimes, according to the needs of material and product forming, the methods of expanding and reducing are combined. In the process of necking or expanding, cold pressing or hot pressing is determined according to different materials and diameter changing conditions. Generally, cold pressing should be used as far as possible, but hot pressing should be adopted for severe work hardening caused by multiple diameter changes, wall thickness deviation or alloy steel materials. In addition to using steel pipe as raw material to produce reducer, some sizes of reducer can also be produced by stamping process with steel plate. The shape of the die used for drawing is designed according to the inner surface dimension of the reducing pipe, and the blanking steel plate is formed by stamping and drawing.
